Watching my first World Cup without Luke. He loved football. He’s not here to tell me every back story, every anecdote of every player. There’s no shouting at the screen, the air is not blue with expletive language.

The joy of watching is so diminished without him.

His team, Arsenal, won the FA Cup, the first year after his death, and it makes me wonder, will he make England win?

Is there a parallel game of angel football fans who make the goals go in or not? Are they tripping players up, distracting them during penalties? Is Pele up there aiding Brazil, and Luke aiding England? Luke v Pele, how he’d love that!!!
